Is this change-of-address website real? It wants $40.

Probably not. The official online form on usps.com costs about a dollar for an identity check. It's free in person at a post office.

Look-alike sites have charged up to $40, and some never make the change.

Type usps.com yourself instead of clicking an ad. If you paid a fake site by card, ask your card company to dispute it. Report the site to the Postal Inspection Service.
